In the US, I would have had to wait several months, but here everything was organized quickly and professionally. Dr. Lie Kwok Ying performed my HoLEP procedure, and I could not have asked for a better doctor. He was very attentive, caring, patient, and highly professional throughout the entire process. From the first consultation, he explained everything clearly and made me feel comfortable and confident about the surgery. Ram Gopalan16 December 2025Dr KY Lie is a very proficient surgeon when it comes to HoLEP surgery for BPH. He is a very good listner and follows up at all times of the day, till things really settle down which could be 1-2 months post surgery. I am at awe of his commitment to the patient, his empathy towards every patient and ability to keep the patient at ease during the recovery period which can be a roller coaster ride. His staff at both Glen Eagles and Mount Alvernia are also very supportive and follow up diligently. Overall a fantastic experience I had with surgery in Oct 2025, despite being a complicated patient. Besides being professional, he is really attentive and helpful. He made sure my father got the safest treatment as my father is a patient with greater risk due to his compulsory anticoagulant intake. He also made sure that my father’s recovery went smoothly by always being available for any questions and guiding us throughout the recovery process. We are really glad to have undergone the procedure with Dr Lie in the Advanced Urology Mt Alvernia Hospital. I am very satisfied with this prostate surgery. The meticulous service of Doctor Lie and the hospital made it easy for me to spend the two days of hospitalization after the surgery. It was not so hard to recuperate at home afterwards. After a month of recuperation, I have recovered. Now I can urinate smoothly like the doctor said, back to the smoothness of my youth. Robert Gunawan18 September 2024Mom 67 years old, did a bilateral stent change with Dr Lie Kwok Ying 3 weeks ago at Mt Alvernia. My family and I can only say good things about Dr Lie and his clinic. We went to him seeking second opinion because of some unpleasant experience with previous urologist in terms of pricing, scheduling and overall experience. Dr Lie is a genuinely caring human who helps people through his medical expertise. He managed to do the change without having dilation (which previous dr done which increase cost + more bleeding post surgery). He is a good communicator, direct and dont withhold information (sometimes u can sense when someone does it) that put us at ease. We appreciate his transparency. He is also responsive. What we appreciate and most people underestimate is the importance of admin support of the clinic. The Mount Alvernia staff supported us through insurance claims and pre admission process. The young lady who corresponded with us via whatsapp is excellent should be commended and Andrea too. Most importantly, clinic staff is willing to help and have a heart of service. If not, you get frustrated and might as well revert to public health service Last thing of all, my mother is energetic. Infection free so far and had no issues. Jimmy Tan15 February 2024I managed to find Dr. Lie Kwok Ying while searching the internet for a urologist with extensive HoLEP experience to treat my enlarged prostate condition which have severely affected my urine flow and causing urinary retention. Dr Lie KY is a very competent surgeon and possess extensive HoLEP experience. He is very skillful in performing the HoLEP operation. With Dr Lie's expertise, the whole process went very smoothly and the surgery was a great success. I am very happy and delighted to say that the outcome have far exceeded my expectations. Furi Andi Karnapi25 December 2023My father had suffered urination issues due to BPH for more than 10 years. Finally he braved himself to get it medically treated. I contacted Advanced Urologyr and connected to Dr Lie. My father had one time consultation and got it treated within the same week. Dr Lie is very professional and skillful. My father who was very afraid of any surgery finally told me that he could not feel any different at all before and after surgery. There is no pain at all even after his 100gm prostate removed. He reviewed my symptoms and tests, advised me of my condition and options so that I was clear on the way forward, and pre-booked the operating theatre so that we are ready to operate within days. Binod Sijapati16 May 2023After a long research found Dr Lie Kwok Ying for advice re various options to make my life easier from the prostrate issues I have had been struggling. Dr Ying, explained me about various procedures to cope with BPH and their suitability at my age. After evaluating all the options I decided to urge him to undertake HoLEP. In view of my situation and schedule originally date for procedure was set for 16 May but he helped to bring forward the day for 12 May. After the procedure I felt relieved. A desire I hadw for a long time. AsmedicalYing is unique. He is by far the best director I have had during my long time association with doctors all over the world as a patient.
